Update on the pathogenesis of atopic dermatatis [Review Article]

A timely review outlining the complex etiology and parthenogenesis of atopic dermatitis. Research points to AD being a manifestation of skin barrier deficits, immune response, with neurological complexities, reactivity to environment, and genetic predisposition. The authors discuss current regimes in treatment and adverse events.

Eczema Pathology. [Website]

A useful website with colour cross-sections of lesion samples once you scroll down. Useful for illustrating pathophysiology and disease progression as cross-sectional skin samples to patients.

Atopic Dermatitis (2023) [Textbook]

An excellent textbook on atopic dermatitis that should be kept within arms reach for those who have more than a passing interest in patients who suffer AD. Clear and easy to understand with colour illustration and charts for  clarification on etiology, disease progression and presentation.

Atopic Dermatitis: Beyond Scratching the Surface. [Animation]

An excellent Continuing Medical Education credit coursework video on the pathophysiological understanding of atopic dermatitis. The animation is clearly explained using professional language. If you would like to sharing this video with a patient, please cue the video to the section you wish to share and play with the volume off and explaining using patient accessible language.

Targeting Interleukins to Improve Treatment Outcomes in Atopic Dermatitis [Video Resource]

A Continuing Medical Education Credit course video on the newest treatment strategies derived form the research on the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis and adverse events of some treatments or regimes. The entire 33 minutes is digestible, however, much of the general information is covered by other sources equally well and by now is familiar information.
